Grub countdown doesn't count

On boot, at grub menu it would show what kernel your booting to, as wel
as show the count down to boot that was set in grub.conf.  Now it just
sits there and doesn't count down or anything else until you hit enter
or whatever.  Someone else mentioned this on test-list and had mentioned
didn't see a bug on it.

Anyone else?
