Not if you're installing from DVD or split media.  There is still peril
there with the installation ordering due to each piece of media needing
to be a single transaction, and the network stuff is added later which
causes very strange install orders if say coreutils is updated and on
the network.

Also it requires network during install which not everybody has, and a
fast mirror which not everybody has.
