Naturally I just messed up your carefully laid plans by approving 'mvdz'
for cvsdocs.  So, I'll take responsibility if he does anything crazy in
CVS while you are going through the usual sponsoring route. :)

I got confused because I didn't recall there being a "first anonymous
CVS, prove self, then gain access" step:

There is some confusion here.  The CVSUsage page makes it sound easy (a
self-intro, proof of ability -- writing sample, referenced translation,
and Fedora account), then the CVSAccess page puts on more restriction
(sponsor).

This is confusing even to me!  Arrgh!!

Obviously its time to pare down the pages and directions a bit.  Anyone
who wants to help, jump in.
