Backporting packages to older distros

I see that perl-String-CRC32 was added to rawhide yesterday; this module 
was on my to-do list for Extras as it's a dep of another module I want 
to use. Obviously I won't need to introduce it on the devel branch but 
I'd like to have it on the FC-4 branch. What's the procedure for doing 
this? Introduce the package as normal, then request the FC-4 branch and 
removal of the devel branch on the Extras/CVSSync Needed page?
