Aaah. When I follow the steps in the bug, I get the same problem. However,
if I do any of these, it works fine:
1. Just run "system-config-date" without sudo. (As previously noted, you
can set up consolehelper to make this prompt authorized users to
authenticate with their own password.)
2. Run sudo /usr/share/system-config-date/system-config-date.py
3. Build sudo with "--with-secure-path=/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/bin";
run "sudo system-config-date".
The whole "bring up a gnome-terminal running as root (and not just the
shell, the whole app!)" thing seems like a subversion of the major benefits
of sudo anyway.
