Hi Doug,
I've just booted your kernel-2.6.24-2.fc9.ia64.rpm and I have again "mount: could not find filesystem '/dev/root'".

Fabio,

This slightly older F9 rawhide kernel boots on my system. You should be able to use this kernel along with the rest of the latest repo for a usable system until a fixed kernel is available:

http://ia64.koji.fedoraproject.org/fedora-ia64/rawhide-20080212/development/ia64/os/Packages/kernel-2.6.24-2.fc9.ia64.rpm

I will send out mail to the list when the kernel is stable again. In the meantime when you do updates do:

yum update --exclude kernel
