[Fedora-ia64-list] Latest rawhide yum update boots again!

I am once again able to boot rawhide-ia64.

Note, this is on systems that I installed with F8 and then yum updated
to the latest rawhide. I have some unexplainable errors I need to look
into when trying to compose an install image.

To update to the latest rawhide:

1) if you have kernel-2.6.25-0.69.rc3.git1.fc9.ia64 installed, uninstall
it first..

2) be sure to do a "yum clean all"

3) point your yum config at:

http://ia64.koji.fedoraproject.org/fedora-ia64/rawhide-latest/development/ia64/os/

4) yum update --exclude kernel --exclude firefox (and perhaps you will
need to exclude other things, if you do please let me know).

5) _then_ do: "yum install kernel" to get the latest kernel (key is do
this _after_ the latest mkinitrd is installed.

6) the last piece of the puzzle that took me a while to figure out...
in your elilo.conf make sure you add:

	append="selinux=0"

in the stanza with the kernel you are booting. Note you STILL need to
do this even if you have selinux disabled in /etc/selinux/conf.

It should boot OK at this point.

I would be very interested in hearing back from people who have this
running. If you have the latest rawhide running on ia64 drop me an
email, (or even just send it to the full list) telling me what sort of
hardware you are running on just so I can get an idea of testing
breadth.
