All these institutes depend on the commercial service
providers for the
bandwidth which is costly in spite of the discounts
offered.
Till such time ERNET is completely revived and made
stronger and is
properly connected with NIXI at all NIXI nodes this
bandwidth crisis for
the institutes shall continue.
The present approach can be to request service
providers like BSNL and
VSNL to provide some mirrors as they have hardware and
bandwidth in plenty.
IIT - Madras hosts a mirror for debian for public use.
May they can be
approached for fedora as well.
