FYI, You might want to track RPM 4.8 changes in

http://www.rpm.org/wiki/Releases/4.8.0

There are particular changes that has a impact on the presentation,
definition of build root, cleaning up in %install and in %clean happens
automatically now for example.

RPM 4.8 beta1 is in Rawhide already.
