Where is the benefit?

Isn't is sufficient to subscribe to fedora-extras-commits at redhat.com and
let people filter out what you are interested in with procmail, evo or
thunderbird?

Further: I think with the Package DB it might soon be possible to get
CCed on commits to individual packages. That might help those people
that think fedora-extras-commits at redhat.com is to much traffic.
