Someone mentioned epoch promotion as prerequisite to rpm upgrades to 4.2.
Ok I'll bite, what is epoch promotion?
The general consensus from the dev maintainers is that maintaining support
for rh73 rpm makes is more difficult to compile packages?
Upgrading to 4.2 fixes rpm locking issues, and makes it easier for
maintainers to maintain packages?

Upgrades are multistep because, compat libraries need to be installed on
7x machines?

Did I pretty much cover all the issues?
I'm staying with my original statement, modified:
"If it works I'm not touching it until erratta forces me to change it, I
hate beeper calls at 4:00 AM....Conservative with a capital C."
I suppose I can see the reasons for the change.
I appreciate the effort peole make in supporting obsolete rh releases, so
in the end the maintainers can make whatever rpm choice they believe is
the best one.
