Latest kernel won't update with latest version of up2date

I answered my own question on this one...
After about five minutes with the built in driver "nv" screen glitches
were visible everywhere...
I've rerun the NVIDIA installer and recompiled for my kernel....

Everything is now... great.

If anyone else needs to remember...

to turn off the CC check for the NVIDIA installer...

IGNORE_CC_MISMATCH=1
export IGNORE_CC_MISMATCH

will set the enviroment variable and export it so the installer can see
it to compile properly...

rob.
