newbie needs dual boot install help

You might want to run fdisk from windows and delete the partition from 
D: - Linux needs some available disk space to live on. It uses another 
type of filesystem. Then reboot and run the Linux installer again.

Also you might want to try the default install, insted of everything.

There are two different window managers available on default installs. 
(Many more in the "wild"). Unlike the one for MS.

I imagine it didn't have any space to install to.
