peculiar problem and I think that it's me...

when the weekly script runs, I think it's something like makewhatis or
something like that...or if I just run updatedb from cli - I get several
processes that hang

and from that moment on, I cannot get any perl based program to run.

I cannot kill the /usr/bin/updatedb even with kill -15 process#

This was an upgrade from RH 9
