There are both "setenv" and "unseteng" routines in the glibc, so I
guess you must be asking about some command-line stuff.

It turns out that "setenv" is a built-in directive to the CSH
(C-Shell) written Bill Joy, of VI editor fame.

On Linux, you can install the "tcsh" RPM to get a re-implementation
of this shell.
