Relaxing password policy

See /etc/pam.d/system-auth for the line calling pam_cracklib.so (of
course the comment at top of the file too).
But I do not recommend to change that policy! Better teach your
girlfriend how to create a good password. A good way is that she
memorizes a sentence, just as an example:
Love is a 4 letter word costs no $
Then create the password from it using the first letter of each word,
that makes:
Lia4lwcn$
Once in mind, never forgotten - but not trivial to crack :)
