I would recommend nail:

http://nail.berlios.de/

It is a small non-CLI mail sending application, rich featured than the
simple mail command. Looking at the manual page
http://nail.berlios.de/man/nail.1.html you quickly see what the tool is
capable of. And it is not dead but still bettered. I love it.
