    I have a deeling it's a kernel issue; I'd stay off of it for a
version....here, on long-time kernel-happy hardware, it
**IMMEDIATELY**BOOTS*** and so I can't even get to the 'slow' part.

    :)

    I sure hope other people have noticed something like this.
