Via the great "man cp" ...
-p same as --preserve= mode, ownership,
timestamps
--preserve[=ATTR_LIST] preserve the specified attributes
(default: mode,owner-ship,timestamps) and security contexts, if
possible additional attributes: links, all
This should do it for you
