Unable to Play MP3 & .DAT File on FEDORA Core 1.

Try MPlayer, which is a media player for linux. It is very easy to compile and install it. Plays my mpeg/avi movies and mp3's without any problem.

  I'm facing prob. now a days. See, I'm unable to play .mp3 files and .dat files which i have copied from my favourite VCD. 

  Can anyone tell me what to do to overcome out of this situation.

  Even I'm not able to play any of my VCD as well. 

  My sound card is well configured & i've checked with that.
