Clean up your upgrade installation in /etc/modprobe.conf as one part of
trouble-shooting your problems. Re-run system-config-soundcard with a
clean modprobe.conf file to detect your soundcard. Get rid of all old
ALSA files from FC1 or manual installation attempts (e.g. alsasound).
Your lsmod output shows that the ALSA modules are loaded, but modprobe.conf
is a real mess. Verify the "dev" and "MAKEDEV" packages. Make sure you've
got the ALSA device entries.
