Hi Don, 
I have to assume you used Redhat's GUI tools to configure the new NIC.
Thats it what probably caused your problem.

Check the contents of your /etc/resolv.conf file to make sure that the
correct info is in it.  If not, correct it (as root) and then restart
your network.
