external network device eth0 is not ready

after some months i suddenly got this error when booting my fc3: 
"external network device eth0 is not ready"

the error occur after "Bringing up interface eth0" which hangs for a 
couple of minutes... I have a dhcp server, that is working just fine, 
have also tried to reinstall the nic, with no luck.
I have winxp on the same box, and the nic works just fine there.... It's 
a Davicom Semiconductor Cnet pci nic.
Have also tried to set static ip, with the same result.btw selinux is off...

i'm really stuck now, so any tip on where and what to look for would  be 
great!
