I have installed Fedora Core 3 x86_64 from CDs in a machine with the following
characteristics:
Motherboard: A8V Deluxe
Microprocessor: AMD ATHLON 64 3500 MHz,
Hard Disk: 160 GB Serial ATA 7200 rpm SEAGATE
Video Card: ATI RADEON 9800XT 256MB DDR TV OUT DVI

When the installation ended, anaconda rebooted the computere but the grub menu
didn't appear as usual, and on the black screen there were only a short
message about the grub use and the grub console:

grub>

>From this console I can boot Fedora (or Window XP) manually, but this isn't a
very convenient way.

Previously I had installed Mandrake 10.1 x86_64, it had another problems but
the grub menu worked without problems. After installing Fedora, I installed
Mandrake again, but the grub menu didn't work this time. Now it is Fedora the
distribution installed.

Hint: Before the grub console there appears the following messages:

FastTrack 378(tm) BIOS Version 1.00.0.37
(c) 2003 Promise Technology, Inc. All rights reserved
Scaning IDE drives .......

No drive attached to FastTrack controller, The BIOS is not installed.

Of course the BIOS is installed.

Any idea about what to do?

Bye
Ramom
