'localdomain 127.0.0.0' or I've seen 'loopnet 127.0.0.0'.

    You can create this file if you would like to see these in
the route's output. If you don't use route to list your routings,
I use 'ip r l / ip route list', you have no use of it I think.
If /etc/networks serves any other purpose, I don't know about it.
Does it?
