We have a USB only (Sony) video camera at work.  I tried to connect it 
using USB and FC1 but didn't get much success.  Of course I didn't 
have much time to play with it.

The issue was playing the tape and capturing the stream on the 
computer via the USB port.

We had to use a Windows computer to get the data. :(  Of course the 
Windows software would only record 10 minutes at a time.

There are cameras that are USB only.
