Xine kills X

This happens to me with a computer based on the 815 chipset. I 
downloaded ogle and it works. I didn't go further with trying to get 
xine to work on the desktop.

If you download ogle to try. You might need to make a symlink from your 
/dev/cdrom(x) to /dev/dvd in order for ogle to work.

Xine works fine on my laptop though. What chipset does your computer 
motherboard use?
