Marius, I appreciate all the advice...especially all the way from Romania!  
;-)
I used yum to install k3b, and now have everything working properly.
I had originally tried k3b a week or so ago, but discarded it because it 
wouldn't copy the hidden files, even though there was a setting for that in 
the configuration.
I just stumbled across the way to do it.  You have to r-click in the directory 
window, and select "show hidden files".  Works perfectly.
