Looks like what I've had when updating from RH9 to FC1 last friday... 
Remove the /var/lib/rpm/__db* files , then run rpmdb --rebuilddb -v . 
It'll print lots of things.. when it's done , try the rpm -qa again... 
it'll work perfectly...
