installing xmms-mp3 fails due to dependency issues

My advice is not to use xmms packages. Some features like enqueuing from 
konqueror stop working.

Yes,. but in any case, you can install any mp3 plugin with --nodeps (I was 
using xmms 1.2.8 with 1.2.7 plugin without problems)
