dell inspiron 5150 setup problems

hi,
I know this has been on the list a couple of times but I still can't
find a solution on my notebook. the problem is the graphical installer
that does not work on my nvidia geforce 5200fx go. the display is all
scrambled and not readable.
then I switched to textmode install and that hangs too. after the media
check the setup routine just stops with no error message...

can anyone help me out on this one?
