Stop right there! There have been numerous errata kernels
since the original 2115 kernel, fixing several security
problems, and additionally, numerous VM fixes.

I recommend a session with up2date. Debugging VM problems
with the 2115 kernel is pointless as the updates changed
the VM quite dramatically, to match mainline 2.4
