Others have already mentioned that their experience with CUPS is 
much more posititve than yours.   

RedHat still has workstation support and targetted products.   

Yes, they stand to benefit from cooperation with people in the 
community around the Fedora project.   Community members who 
understand the terms, stand to benefit from this cooperation as well.
