I typically install with "[] Everything" package selection.  One of the 
first things I do after the initial boot is to uninstall all the foreign 
(for me, non-English) documentation.  There is a *lot* of disk space 
consumed by aspell, man-pages, and kde-i18n to support a multitude of 
languages.  Uninstalling these is a good way to regain disk space without 
losing any functionality.

Also, delete everything below the /tmp and /var/tmp directories.
