Fedora Core 2 Kernel 2.6.5-1.435 hangs / freezes

I have problems like this all the time. It just randomly locks up where
the keyboard freezes yet the mouse moves and i need to restart to power
back up. I have an ATI 7200 series RAdeon card. I am not sure that that is
the problem though. I am running FC2 on x84_64
