We've had issues like that with our Belkin KVM's.  We recently swapped
them all out with 32 port Cyclades KVM's.  They work really well, and
there's no need for bulky cables.  You run cat5 to a dongle that
attaches tot he machine.  Check them out, they make a 4 port version.
