Well The original FC1 had SOME of the same errors. I've attached a copy
of that output to this message... But whatever these errors really mean,
I've yet to find a difference in how the tar cloned FC1 works...

I don't THINK it will matter which FC1 I use to upgrade to FC2. They
both work just fine. 

I'd like to give a big thanks to all of you nice people for the help and
advice.  I learned more about tar in this thread than *I* ever got out of
man tar, and thats for sure. I suppose I should be in the habit of using
info instead of man, But I can't seam to get used to it's navigation
commands and often miss things anyway...
