NFS Problem in FC1

i have a strange problem related to NFS
i have arround 50 FC1 boxes, with a FC1 NFS server

i mount /users directory from the server to /users on local machines

after about 10 mins a user is logged in, the current working dir shows
/myhome/user instead of /users/myhome/user

as a result, many applications dont work
the user has to logout and re-login....

note that the user runs X after logging in, but that should not be a 
problem, i suppose

anybody has any clue what could be the problem?
