FC2 won't install on ASUS P4P800 series mobo's

I will raise this here since release of FC2 is very pertinent.
Anyone who wants to share their experiences with FC2 installation on
the ASUS P4P800 series mobos, chime in on bugzilla 121819.

Currently there are 68 posts to 121819.

One work around is to install kernel 2.6.5-1.358smp instead of plain 
2.6.5-1.358.

Worked for me on my P4P800SE. I also have been able to use every 
successor to
2.6.5-1.358 with smp.
