Okay, 75Hz are too much for the SGI 1600sw. 60Hz is the way to go.

Section "Monitor"
     Identifier "monitor"
     VendorName "SGI"
     ModelName "sgi_flat"
     HorizSync 31-64
     VertRefresh 60-61

     Modeline "1600x1024" 103.125 1600 1600 1656 1664 1024 1024 1029
1030 HSkew 7 +Hsync +Vsync
     Modeline "1600x1024" 103.125 1600 1600 1656 1664 1024 1024 1029

EndSection

This is what my Monitor section looks like. Again, what graphic card
dou you have? Is 1600x1024 supported?

Alex
