Yes, X will work.  Fedora Core 2 comes with the "nv" driver.

Now, I just tried the new NVIDIA 5336 driver and I get no X.  
I checked for errors in the X log file but did not find any.

I am probably missing something simple after following the above
instructions.  I am trying this on my Dell Precision M60 Laptop.
Any ideas?

I will try on my desktop and let you know what happens.
