Cant save files from gnome-sound-recorder

No clues, but when I noticed it (tried several audio recording
programs while debugging microphone problems), I queried bugzilla
and found this:

Many users reported issues with gnome-sound-recorder here, including
"Save As" doesn't work, see e.g. comment 25, 33 and 34.
