Dovecot dead after FC3 upgrade

Dovecot fails at startup after an FC3 upgrade:

Nov 10 13:19:02 ciscy dovecot: Dovecot starting up
Nov 10 13:19:03 ciscy dovecot: Auth process died too early - shutting down
Nov 10 13:19:03 ciscy dovecot: child 9646 (auth) returned error 127
Nov 10 13:19:03 ciscy imap-login: fd_send(-1) failed: Broken pipe

I'm at a loss to figure this one out (and it's making it darn difficult to
read my mail).
