KDE missing keyboard layouts?

There already is a report in KDE:
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91148

It seems to be fixed in KDE 3.3.1 (it now looks for xorg if xfree86 doesn't 
exist). So after updating to KDE 3.3.1. the symlinks are no longer necessary 
(and I just confirmed on my computer that I can remove the symlinks)
