CD Burning

Hi,

I upgraded to the 2.6.8.1 kernel, knowing that I needed to burn as
root. I then upgraded cdrecord, dvd+rw-tools, k3b and xcdroast to the
latest versions. Now I can't burn at all. It just hangs at the
preparing to burn stage, both as a normal user and as root. If I
downgrade cdrecord and dvd+rw-tools to the versions on the FC2 DVD, I
can burn as root again.

Any ideas?
