k3b race condition with mp3?

well, i recreated my problem and k3b was burning allright, then the
harddisk gradually became more and more active and the process k3b which
had about 50% CPU gradually moved down the CPU list and kswapd0 moved up
the list. 

here's the last outtake from top, i get 20 mins response time when the
harddisk goes nuts at the end:)
