First question: you can. But as said keep attention on the realm. By
default it is the hostname. If you override this when using saslpasswd2
there is no problem if you later move the sasldb2 file to a different
host and continue use the old user auth data.

Second question: you do not read carefully. I answered that question in
my previous posting.

""sasldblistusers2" will list created sasldb2 users."

This does not mean you see the passwords this way.
