How reliable are glxgears statistics? My FPS increased from 650 to 1100 by using Option "EnablePageFlip" "true" in xorg.conf!!!

That didn't help, and may even have slowed me down by 5 fps. But then
I'm stuck at 198-199 anyway. Interesting bit of data falls out of an
