xorg.conf for Dell C840 w/ FC3T3

I am somewhat confused.
The Dell site lists my laptop as being capable of 1600x1200 on their
site.

However, my X settings blank out at that res, leaving me at 1450.

Does anyone have a good xorg.conf for a C840?
Or tips for achieving 1600 res in FCT3 with an nvidia driver?

(Yes, I have read the nvidia readme, over and over...all I get is a
black screen and hard drive activity when trying to switch to 1600 res.)
