I had exactly the same problem earlier, it was due to me accidentally
upgrading my FC2 box to the devel branch.

There is a problem with the Xorg upgrade, I had to remove some packages
manually and then re-install them manually.

Did you do any thing along those lines?

Do you have fonts-xorg- some thing or other?
